ÉTABLISSEMENT NÉOLIBÉRÉ
A Kinshasa, les petits commerces portent le nom d’Etablissement. Ce Pouss pouss métamorphosé est notre «?marché?», tel que nous le qualifions par rapport aux analogies et aux contraires que nous cherchons entre l’art et le néolibéralisme. Il permet de déplacer notre établissement artistique à but non lucratif dans les rues du quartier. On sort de son antre la matière à faire parler, échanger, autrement dit le fond de commerce artistique.
NEOLIBERATED ESTABLISHEMENT
In Kinshasa, streetside vendors are referred to as “établissement” [establishment]. EzaOKUP appropriated / countermanded this concept and created an establishment of its own, a loosely assembled shopping-cart-type construction, with the aim of further plumbing, questioning and highlighting analogies and contradictions between artistic and neoliberal practices. Their "établissement néolibéral" cruised through the streets of Lingwala: engaging, exchanging, talking…, making “artistic commerce”.
